The Primary CABIN art studios and common areas live on the second and third floor of Maxfields.
Maxfields (5 Market St.)
MAXFIELDS is a family restaurant and bar owned by the Hazen family since 45 years. We will host our welcome drinks on Friday, August 7 from 5-7 pm together with live jazz by Phoenix Jazz Collective as well as our closing party on Saturday with artist in resident DJ VOODOO. The top two floor of Maxfields host CABIN’s common areas and one of our artist studios spaces. During our happy hour, guests will be welcome to explore our studios and common areas.

f. Oval Wood Dish Factory (6 Depot St.)
The historic Oval Wood Dish Factory hosts another key building for our artists with hosting of artist studios and 8 artists who have been working there the past months. This weekend, we will convert four of the factories iconic spaces into exhibition space.

d. Wild Assembly (29 Market St.)
A new storefront and outdoor adventure club will open by the CABIN team to act as vehicle to connect to the local nature. Wild Assembly will host experiences for the artists and offer a storefront for quality goods and apparel for experiencing the outdoor world. On Saturday, August 8, the store will open at 930 am with a coffee bar by St. Lawrence Valley Roasters followed by a walk along Muenster Trail.

c. CABIN Books (25 Market St.)
CABIN Books is an art bookstore and exhibition space featuring work by current artists-in-residence. The space will collaborate with local partners to develop cultural programming and serve as the public-facing component of the residency.

e. The Arlington (4 Market St.)
Founded as a grand hotel in 1888, the historic hotel has always a centerpiece of Potsdam. Future plans include redeveloping the hotel to support a more robust visitation program for the artists. During the weekend, three rooms will be converted into small exhibition space.

i. Trinity Episcopal Church
Sandstone church built in 1885. Inside, a few paintings will be displayed from the CABIN Residency.

h. Munter Trail
A trail connecting downtown Potsdam deeper into the Raquette River. During the weekend, you can discover a site specific installation by artist in residence Brooklynn Golinvaux.

g. Mama Lucias (1 Constitution)
Housed in Potsdam’s original historic train station, Mama Lucias is an Italian restaurant owned by the Hazen family for 33 years. On Saturday, August 8 we will have a private dinner with the CABIN artist community with a sharing 4 course dinner.

A new storefront opening by CABIN founder aimed to be a vehicle to connect to the local nature. WILD ASSEMBLY will host experiences i for the artists and offer a storefront with quality goods for experiencing the natural world.
3) CABIN Books & Wine (25 Market)
CABIN will provide space for art books and art supplies, as well as a small exhibition program featuring work by the current artists-in-residence. The space will collaborate with local partners to develop cultural programming and serve as the public-facing component of the residency.
4) THE ARLINGTON

5) SCANLONS
Historic factory building housing part of CABIN’s artist studios. Within the factory, 3 spaces will host exhibition for the weekend including the historic office and apartments on the second floor.
6) Munter Trail
A beautiful trail through the Racquette River. Along the way you will find an installation by CABIN Artist in Residence Brooklynn Golinvaux.
7) Potsdam Public Library
Historic Sandstone building from 1896. Inside find a small installation of works.
8) Ray’s Antiques
Local antique shop presenting a single painting as part of the CABIN village-wide exhibition.
